CLINT DUPLECHIAN, KYOSHI

Clint DuPlechian, Sensei, grew up in southwestern Louisiana. As a child, he was always fascinated by martial-arts movies.  He received his first-degree black belt  in the fall of 1991.

In 1997 Sensei DuPlechian had the good fortune to attend a tournament and observe a demonstration of Shorin Ryu karate. He was so taken with Shorin Ryu that he instantly decided to pursue this style and teach it. He now trains with Soke Dave Shelton in Soken Do Matsumura Seito. Soke Shelton promoted Sensei DuPlechian to sixth-degree black belt and awarded him the title of Shihan. In 2007, Sensei DuPlechian was awarded the rank of 7th dan as well as the title of Kyoshi.

Sensei DuPlechian balances a career as an health and physical education teacher for the Rapides Parish, La., school system with his love for the art of karate.

BRIAN NEAL, SHIHAN

Sensei Neal began his career in 1983 under the instruction of Sensei George Johnson. He continued to train and learn on an erratic basis until 1993. At that time, he began to train under the instruction of Sensei Clint DuPlechian. The two have been student and teacher ever since. Sensei Neal received his 1st degree black belt in 1995. Once he finished college, Sensei Neal devoted his life to the martial arts. He began to learn all that he could from Sensei DuPlechian and in 2009, he received his 6th degree black belt.

Sensei Neal’s love for the art and love for teaching has driven him to continue for so many years. Since he began his career, he has seen many black belts come and go. However, to this day, neither he nor his instructor have ever stopped learning and teaching.
